Dean was born in the pristine, southern city of Savannah, Georgia. He trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of 12 at a Bobby Richardson Crusade, and at the age of 17 he surrendered his life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Susie grew up in historic northern Virginia, and was saved at the age of 15 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Fairfax. They met while at Bible College and were married on August 9, 1975. God has blessed them with six children: Jason, Dixie, Tara, Georgia, Nathan, and Jonathan.
After graduation, the Herrings spent the next 30 years ministering in South Georgia. During that time, Dean spent 8 years as a youth minister, 2 years in evangelism, and 20 years as a pastor. He has had the privilege of preaching numerous youth camps and family/marriage conferences, along with preaching several revivals and missions conferences across America each year.
After a visit to the Treasure Valley, God began to impress upon the hearts of the Herring Family that He wanted them to move to the area and plant a historic Baptist church. In November of 2005, they bid farewell to their friends and loved ones, and moved to Idaho to begin the work that God had led them to do. On the second Sunday of February, 2006, the South Valley Baptist Church had its first service with 43 present, and 6 people accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. Dean and Susie love it here and are very excited about South Valley Baptist Church!
Pastor Chad and Georgia Adams

Chad was born in the beautiful coastal city of Jacksonville, Florida. He was raised in church and trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of 5 at Harvest Baptist Church in Jacksonville. When he was 12, Chad surrendered to the call of God on his life to preach the Gospel at Ft. Bluff Camp in Dayton, Tennessee. He became the Youth Pastor at Harvest Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida in January of 2005. Georgia was born in the South Georgia town of Jesup. She trusted Christ as her Savior at the age of 5 in her home. She moved out to Idaho with her family in 2005 to help plant SVBC.
While Youth Pastor at Harvest Baptist Church, Chad brought the teens to summer camp at Camp Okefenokee in Waycross, Georgia. This is where he met Georgia in the summer of 2007. They were married on June 7, 2008 in Jacksonville. They have 5 wonderful children: Reagan, Jackson, Jefferson, Madison, and John Quincy.
Chad and Georgia worked on staff at Harvest Baptist Church in Jacksonville until September 2009 when the Lord moved them to come on staff at South Valley Baptist Church. Chad serves as the Youth Pastor and also oversees the Upwards group and Adult Minsitry activities. They are excited about the wonderful things the Lord is using them to do here at South Valley Baptist Church!
Pastor Nathan and Carissa Herring

Nathan was born in the southern town of Jesup, Georgia. At the age of four, he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour. When he was eleven years of age, he answered God's call to preach the Gospel during a mission conference at Crown College in Powell, Tennessee. He served at Heritage Baptist Church under his father, Pastor Dean Herring until he was nineteen years old. In November of 2005, Nathan moved to Idaho with his family to help plant the South Valley Baptist Church.
Carissa was born and raised in Yakima, Washington. She accepted Christ at the age of six. She faithfully served under her father, Pastor Dave Brown, until leaving to attend Heartland Baptist Bible College. After graduating with a major in Missions and a minor in Education, she returned home to continue serving as secretary at Yakima Bible Baptist Church. Nathan and Carissa were married in October of 2010. Since then, they have been blessed with six beautiful children, Nathan II, Jaelle, Denée, Ava, James, and Dean.
Nathan serves as the Assistant Pastor of South Valley Baptist Church. He serves as our Children’s Pastor and works with our College and Career group. Nathan and Carissa feel very blessed for the opportunity to serve at South Valley Baptist Church, and to minister to the wonderful people of Idaho.
